Oregon coastal rivers get some great winter steelhead runs and some of the best rivers for early fish are usually:\u00a0 Three Rivers, Nestucca, Necannicum, NF Nehalem, NF Alsea,\u00a0 Nestucca and Wilson Rivers.\u00a0 Low flows on the smaller streams have made fishing difficult.\u00a0 Some fish are showing in most rivers but extreme low, clear water makes fishing super tough.\u00a0 Use stealth and care in your approach for best results.<\/p>\n
There are a few steelhead getting caught on the Wilson, but overall the fishing has been slow. Expectations are that ta good freshet should bring in a fair number of hatchery fish, and fishing should improve. There have also been some very bright wild coho caught on the Wilson the past couple weeks, so know your fish ID, and remember there is no retention of wild coho.<\/p>\n
