Deschutes River Guided Fly Fishing Trips for Trout come in a variety of options and start in the spring and provide excellent opportunities into October.  Both single day or multiday trips are available for trout where we can accommodate groups up to 12 anglers.  Much of the Deschutes River flows through remote Nationally declared wild and scenic canyon.  The best way to access trout fishing in these sections is to do a guided fly fishing trip with an outfitter.

Single day trips are offered with a drift boat guide; typically 2 or 3 anglers per boat with flies, sodas/waters, snacks and a hot lunch provided for your trip.

On our multi-day camp trips we have camp staff that float ahead and prepare the camp for you each night.  You simply fish all day with a mid-day break enjoying a hot riverside shore lunch.  In the afternoon/evening you’ll float into camp that is fully prepared for you.  Private tents, comfortable cots with thick, cushy sleeping pads are all provided.  You might even get to enjoy some hot chocolate chip cookies fresh out of our riverside camp oven!

Trout fishing on the Deschutes varies depending on the season but we often focus our efforts on dry flies.  During the course of the day you might get to experience: dry fly action, euro-nymphing, streamer fishing, or even trout spey action.

Steelhead fly fishing on the Deschutes river is long traditioned one of the best places on the PLANET to catch aggressive steelhead on a swung fly ON THE SURFACE!  This technique is exhilerating an addicting.  We like to say the “tug is the drug”.  (See our Tug is the Drug Apparel.)

For steelhead Trips we offer both drift boat and jet boat trips.  These trips vary depending on the time of year and where the steelhead have migrated to.  Early in the season we use jet boats in the lower river; later in the season we use drift boats as the fish move higher in the system.  Our typical fishing strategy is fishing the morning and evening times of the day with floating lines.  We employ the cast swing step approach and fish the best and proven waters for finding steelhead on the swing.
