Clackamas River Fishing Report October 2017

Fall on the Clackamas is a special time- the river is quiet with the falling leaves and the colors astounding!  Deer wander the banks and a variety of fish can be found in the waters cooled by fall rains.

The Clackamas River had an increase in water level with recent rains and anglers can expect water to rise with the current forecast.  Anglers have been out there trying and reports are they’ve found some success for coho from the mouth in Gladstone on up past Eagle Creek, with most of the fish holding in the deeper pools. The week’s rainfall and increase in flows should bring fresh coho into the system as well as get the fish on the move again. Heading into late October the spring Chinook fishing is done for the year, while there are still be a few summer steelhead around.
